When a leading boutique hotel saw an opportunity in the market, technology provided the perfect tools to maximise business.
Beales’ hotel management software had been in place for a long time and was no longer pulling its weight – so the company turned to NFS Technology Group to come up with the perfect solution.
An opportunity to build business was on the horizon, caused by the imminent closure of a nearby competitor hotel, so General Manager Mark Schipper wanted to act quickly.
Beales Hotel knew it needed an up-to-date integrated property management system solution that could improve the running of the 53-bed establishment and also create efficiencies in organising its event space.
Mark said: “We chose to go to NFS because our sister hotel, the West Lodge Park in Cockfosters, has been using roomMaster from NFS successfully for ten years.

How Beales Hotel benefits from roomMaster and Rendezvous:
Both systems are now performing well at the busy hotel, according to Mark.
“Of course, we had a few initial teething problems – because our events business is complicated we needed a further day of training to configure it,” he said.
It’s too early yet to quantify results, but time is already being saved by the removal of manual tasks – for instance, channel and online reservations automatically go into roomMaster now.
“It makes things much more efficient, and it also removes the possibility of people making a mistake, which is something you don’t want in reservations,” said Mark.
“Another benefit it that with our old system, we used to have to go through different platforms to manage our rates, but roomMaster flexes and pushes out our rates and availability automatically now.”
Mark is particularly pleased with an uplift in yield which he is sure is in part down to roomMaster.
“It’s certainly helped us that our competitor in the area closed down, but we’re doing incredibly well on our rooms and the rate is continuing to go up,” he said.
“We’re particularly yielding better at the weekend; before we had roomMaster we would not have had anyone here monitoring the weekend rate, but now the system does it automatically.
“Our weekend rates have grown significantly because of that.”
