Venues that Use Rendezvous Events

Here are four of the latest venues who have signed up for the Rendezvous experience.

GH Event Catering

As an established and respected catering company, GH Event Catering creates menus for all venues, from light lunch in a client’s office to creative canapés for a party, from a private dinner in a client’s home to a wedding breakfast at the company’s own venue.

The Scotland-based company also arranges events that include weddings, birthdays, anniversary parties, product launches and corporate dinners.

Before implementing Rendezvous Events, GH Event Catering maintained all events and client details in Excel and Word formats. “It gave us flexibility but it made the management of event plans and client lists very labour intensive,” explains Revenue Manager Lynn Barclay. “It was very difficult to produce analytic reports that would give direction for our marketing activities.”

Installing Rendezvous gave the company the event management that the software is famous for, but also added a customer relationship management (CRM) tool which provided reminders to follow up with clients, manage the activities of other colleagues in the sales department or to chase a pending deposit invoice.

“At GH Catering we manage multiple venues and frequently have to deliver our services to private residences,” says Lynn. “With Rendezvous we have a transparent, real-time and shared calendar that allows even read-only users to view upcoming bookings. Producing contracts and other client-facing documents is quick, professional and consistent.”

Corporate Event Centre

The Corporate Event Centre at Ontario’s Centre for Health and Safety Innovation (CHSI) provides unparalleled service to clients in the market for meeting, training, conference and event rental space. The facility is open to the public, with the ability to accommodate groups from 8 – 288. Close proximity to airports, highways, and hotels makes the centre the perfect spot for any event, be it a training programme, conference, strategy session, board meeting or reception.

In planning its scheduling requirements, the Corporate Event Centre looked for a solution that could:

  • Streamline event bookings at the centre’s facilities
  • Provide reporting functionality to better manage resources
  • Offer a simplified reservation system for clients

“By employing Rendezvous, we have saved time and energy, allowing us to focus on our clients,” says Geoff Williams, General Manager.

The Centre has a great many facilities in which Rendezvous plays its part. They include a conference centre for up to 288 guests, a presentation centre to accommodate 156 guests, and an executive boardroom for up to 36 people. Five meetings rooms of various sizes, configurable training rooms, and smart rooms for training and meetings are also included in the complex, as well as three open concept hotelling stations. Audio visual features, touch screen technology and telepresence facilities are available where necessary.

The Centre is also home to two of Ontario’s health and safety associations – Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) and Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS), as well as a multi-disciplinary health clinic – High Point Wellness Centre (HPWC).

UAB School of Nursing

The University of Alabama (UAB) School of Nursing is part of a research university and academic health centre. Its purpose is to shape patient-centred healthcare by preparing recognised nurse leaders who excel as clinicians, researchers and educators in Alabama, nationally and internationally.

The School is home to a leading research centre with funded studies in oncology, paediatrics, minority health, international nursing, HIV/AIDS care, occupational health and aging and palliative care.

“We decided to incorporate Rendezvous into our operations to improve the scheduling requirements of classrooms, labs, meeting rooms and exam rooms, as well as resources such as Mannequins and AV equipment,
says Project Manager Susan Lyons.

The School of Nursing is ranked fifth in the world for its collaborative science and clinical work in the areas of medicine, nursing, dentistry, health professions, optometry and public health. It is also engaged with the community in discovering and applying the latest research and evidence to promote the highest quality and best clinical care for patients and their families.

Olive Convention Centre

The Olive Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa, is technologically advanced, versatile and flexible, with seating that can be configured for theatre, classroom and banqueting style events.

Considering the Centre’s current and future growth, a decision was made to install Rendezvous Events to improve internal event planning efficiencies, and to provide critical reports for analysis, review and decision making.

“We use the software to control all aspects of a meeting or event,” says Chief Executive Officer Sastri Ramiah. “This includes reserving space and resources, requesting deposits and managing payments, assigning and overseeing tasks, tracking booking changes, and ensuring the proper delivery of catering and AV equipment.”

“Perhaps our most important characteristic is our size. We have a 1,700 seat capacity plus additional exhibition space. To maximise this we needed an efficient software solution.
