Inspired by the spirit of Buenos Aires, a city where cosmopolitan sophistication collides with irresistible energy, CAU Argentinian steak restaurants are taking the UK by storm.
Estates and Property manager Colin Williams says: “We knew if we could capture that vitality, passion and sense of fun, CAU would be a place people would want to spend time.” And that’s exactly how it turned out – CAU now has 23 highly successful restaurants around the country, with more in the pipeline. With all that energy and a big customer experience to deliver, CAU turned to Aloha electronic point of sale (EPoS) technology from NFS Technology Group for help.
The Aloha solution
Aloha is the leading EPoS restaurant technology that delivers everything from tableside ordering and billing via hand-held devices to comprehensive management reports that help you plan and develop your restaurant business. Aloha also helps restaurants roster staff efficiently and make sure labour and procurement costs are kept well under control – and waste is at a minimum. “We’ve rolled out Aloha from NFS in all of our restaurants, and we plan to roll it out in every new one, too,” said Colin. “We’ve now been with NFS for ten years, and they are absolutely fundamental to us. The product line is very good – and you get an unbelievable level of customer service.”
How CAU benefits from Aloha
CAU has used Aloha’s advanced capabilities and easy-to-use functions to streamline the business and ensure it continues to thrive and grow. Staff mostly use Aloha via iPads, but the solution is flexibly adapted to suit each different location. “We like the efficiency of it in streamlining our business – it’s definitely saving us money in terms of time, efficiency and capturing data so we can identify trends,” said Colin.
“We also appreciate the way it helps you cut down on fraud – staff who might be tempted know they can’t get away with anything. “It’s amazing for stock control – one of our biggest challenges – and it integrates well with our other platforms. “Our market is constantly changing, and Aloha helps us keep up with that. In all, it helps us deliver a slicker service.” Aloha is supported by an award-winning 24/7 technical helpdesk, and Colin said: “We had a few teething problems with the first restaurant, but after that it’s been totally trouble-free.”
CAU is continuing to expand its popular restaurants to new locations, with a new branch soon in Birmingham. “We’ll probably be opening a further 10 or 12 restaurants in future, and we’ll be going with NFS and Aloha in all of them,” said Colin.
