Visitor Management 1: The Traditional Model

In the first part of this three-part White Paper, we discussed the way technology today handles more and more aspects of Visitor Management, and how it starts to take on the functions of building security and access control. We also asked ourselves what happens when a touch screen replaces the friendly receptionist, and if less personal contact makes visitors feel less human and more like items to be processed.

We began by discussing the traditional model of Visitor Management. In this second part, we look at how Visitor Management in a business environment compares with the guest experience in a hotel and ask if there are lessons to be learnt from the cross fertilisation of the two disciplines.
